Young Artist's Program by The Independence Sinfonia

Gabriel Gordon, Conductor

GABRIEL GORDON, a native New Yorker, is the Music Director of numerous youth, amateur and professional orchestras in the tri-state area. These orchestras include: the Greater Newark Youth Orchestra, the Brunswick Repertory Orchestra, the Independence Sinfonia, and the Chamber Orchestra at Tower Hill. The latter includes members from the New York Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra, the American Symphony, and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. One of Mr. Gordon's many concerts included a gala to benefit the Red Cross World Trade Center Disaster Relief Fund. Mr. Gordon produced and conducted this performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in reaction to the events of September 11, 2001. Reviews have been unanimous, as Classical New Jersey and many other publications concur, "Watching and listening to the maestro lead the orchestra is a treat in itself. Every gesture has a clear purpose, is significantly nuanced, and is explicitly observed by the musicians ...Even the uninitiated couldn't fail to understand the maestro's direction." Mr. Gordon has also guest conducted many ensembles from New York, Pennsylvania, and Israel.
